Personalized Care for Women’s Health and Well-being

Women's Health

Comprehensive Gynaecological Services

Good sexual and reproductive health is important for women’s general health and wellbeing. It is central to their ability to make choices and decisions about their lives, including when, or whether, to consider having children.

Different life stages are associated with specific women’s sexual and reproductive health issues, including menstruation, fertility, cervical screening, contraception, pregnancy, sexually transmissible infections, chronic health problems (such as endometriosis and polycystic ovary syndrome) and menopause.

Menstruation

Cycles are often irregular during the first 2 years after the onset of menstruation. These early cycles are often anovulatory-there is no ovulation during the menstrual cycle and therefore the luteal phase does not occur properly.

Ovarian masses and cysts

Ovarian masses and cysts are common in women. It is important to realise that the vast majority of these are functional cysts.

Douching

Despite all the advertising by manufacturers of feminine hygiene products, there are no practical reasons for women to douche on a regular basis.

Cervical Screen

The Cervical Screen is a way to examine cells collected from the cervix. This test can show the presence of infection, inflammation, abnormal cells, or cancer.

Menopause

Vaginal and/or genital bleeding in women who have reached the menopause is abnormal unless it is related to hormone replacement therapy.

Breast Pain

Breast pain, also called mastalgia, is tenderness of the breasts that can occur at any time in a woman’s life. It may or may not be associated with her menstrual cycle. Breast pain is not necessarily an indication of a more serious condition.

Vaginitis

Vaginitis is a medical term that is used to refer to any infection or inflammation of the vagina. The symptoms of vaginitis are common and most women will have at least one form of vaginitis in their lifetime.

Dilatation and curettage (‘D&C’).

It’s used to diagnose and treat many conditions, including abnormal bleeding, and after a miscarriage.

Endometrial ablation

Endometrial ablation is a procedure in which the uterine lining is destroyed either with a laser electrosurgery, or another method.

Endometrial biopsy

The test is used to acquire a small tissue sample of the endometrium (lining of the uterus) for further examination.
